Furado Boulder

In the heart of Serra da Cabreira, there is a boulder that surprises with its peculiar cavities that seem to have been carved in detail. Furado is its name, and “tafoni” is the geological phenomenon that originated with the big hole visible in the rock. In mountainous regions, this phenomenon is considered rare and occurs in rocks that are more susceptible to erosion, mainly as a result of the action of the wind and other environmental factors.
