Our origins
Our name has deep roots in the tradition and history of this region. It derives from the word “pousar”, which means to rest or settle down, takes us back to ancient times, when the inhabitants of our parish traveled on foot along the mountainous trails to Vieira do Minho. Where we met was the place where they stopped to rest and regain strength, it was a refuge in the middle of the route where they prepared for the next stages.
Today, we want to keep the essence of this spirit of welcome and rest alive. Here, we invite you to rest your body and mind, connect with nature and discover the tranquility that guided the steps of those who passed through here.
Our Logo
Much more than a symbol, it is a tribute to the majestic royal eagle, once abundant in the skies of Gerês. These eagles, with their imposing flight and penetrating gaze, were a common presence, gliding over the Peneda-Gerês National Park. Today, the golden eagle is extinct, however, a new juvenile specimen was recently sighted, bringing hope that this beautiful animal could once again soar through our skies.
